Topic: Should pets be spayed/neutered?

Before

Entering animal shelters in the US each year are several million stray pets. About half of these pets are adopted and the remaining ones are often put to death due to the large amount of incoming pets. These animals are loved companions of their owners, so why abandon them? One answer is that they were never loved, or wanted in the first place, as they were the unexpected offspring. Pets should be spayed or neutered to prevent over population and the consequences that come along with it.

After

Annually, animal shelters in the United States (US) host several million stray pets. While approximately half of them are adopted, the remaining pets are often put to death. As owners, we can prevent the over‑population of household pets by spaying or neutering them. We need to be more responsible for our loving companions.
